Today is Friday and that means the start of our new tradition of Movie Night. I absolutely love it! This is only our third week doing it, but we have decided it will be something we strive to do every week. We get a big comforter and pillows, pop some popcorn, and grab the candy for a picnic on the living room floor while we watch a family movie. I am all about doing things as a family and enjoying our time together. Some of the stuff we do can end up being stressful or way too tiring (but nonetheless fun), but movie night is a good way to wind down from the week and kick off our weekend together. Now when Brian is gone, I don't know that it will happen every week, but we'll see.

We have been working on Christmas traditions since we had Avery, but the only thing we are pretty set on is putting up the tree and decorations the day after Thanksgiving (I tried to see if we could do it this weekend, but was shot down). We actually haven't spent Christmas day together except when Avery was 4 months old. The other 2 years Brian was out to sea or working. This year we will be all together and I am super excited about it. We are planning on going home which I am really excited about too so everyone can meet Max and and we get to see our family, but I am a tiny bit sad though that we will not be here in our own little house with just the four of us (well five with Jack). Avery finally is getting to understand Santa and I really would have loved to see her come down our stairs and see the presents that Santa brought to her and doing our own thing that day. I am not sure how we will do it in IN, but we will figure it out and it will be super special since our entire families will be right there. Maybe we will be able to work on traditions we will be able to keep once Brian is out of the Navy and we are back in or closer to IN.
So really I am just excited about all the possibilities there are to bring us together as a family and make our own or bring in old traditions that we can combine into our own. I can't tell you how blessed I am to have such a cute little family to do this with.
